Ayra Sundbom: Partnering with Laurie Coker through the doctoral dissertation process at SHSU, Ayra assists in research and testing in the MagicSpells online studio. She’s also served for several years as a judge for Serious Play. Her full-time position is Instructional Technologist at NCWC and interests range from promoting technology innovations in teaching and learning to bring superior customer service to the field of instructional design and technology. Research interests include immersive learning, virtual reality, innovation strategies, online education, and simulations, streamlining to improve institutional efficiency, training and development of faculty and staff, and enhancing the student experience through technology. She has a background in information technology, customer service, and educational technology. Ayra studied at Saint Leo University to receive an M.S. in Instructional Design after a B.S. in Computer Information Systems and is currently a doctoral candidate in Instructional Systems Design and Technology at Sam Houston State University. She is currently working on her dissertation about the use of virtual reality to teach recertification CPR to adult learners and is exploring the use of virtual reality in education.
