Make A Game Workshop
Chris “Wombat” Crowell spent 20+ years in the games industry, and is currently teaching game design at Sheridan College in Ontario. This live workshop gives educators hands on experience in using a proven process to create an educational game prototype. Combining gameplay and pedagogy is tricky. In this workshop educators will team up to learn and use key aspects of game design, and work through the early steps of development. The outcome is a paper prototype for a learning game of their own, the experience of making a game, and the confidence to do it again on their own. It’s noteworthy that some previous participants have further developed their prototypes into full working games.
