Christy Casey (founder and artistic director of Ruse) specializes in design, writing, and live performance techniques for experiences that invite participants to play an active role in the narrative. In 2020 she was awarded the Next Generation Foresight Practitioners fellowship for her work on Resilience 2032, a social media theater piece where players co-created a fictional reality centered on the 2032 Presidential election, which unfolded in real-time in parallel with the 2020 election. She was also a member of the Interactive Deep Dive think tank whose work was called “one of the most exciting and forward-thinking pieces of immersive work” at SXSW 2018 by The Verge (bit.ly/SimulifeDiaries). Her work has been featured by BBC Future, The Association of Professional Futurists, The Hollywood Reporter, New York Magazine, No Proscenium, & Broadway World, amongst others.
