Jaclyn Layton: is not only a professional counselor, but she’s also a process artist. As a painter and crafter, she discovered early in her life the value of mindfulness through intentional play. She believes in the practice of creative thinking to help individuals explore and get to know themselves in a way that no one else can. Jaclyn has years of experience working with youth 5-18 years old, helping them discover belonging and passion using play and motivational interviewing techniques. Jaclyn holds a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Puget Sound. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience from Pacific Lutheran University. Studying the slowness of geological processes and the speedy nature of human interactions, Jaclyn has a broad perspective on systems thinking. While working in school settings is her predilection, she’s optimistic that her career will include many opportunities to help advocate for mental health wellness and community resilience.
