Using Minecraft to Create Interdisciplinary Curricula for Higher Ed
Jami Woychesin, Ph.D. has a Master of Science in Telecommunications Systems Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma State University. While a Ph.D. student in the Learning Technologies department at the University of North Texas in Denton, her research was focused on the effects of producing other knowledge through game-based learning such as Minecraft. Her belief is that technology education presented in a problem-based learning style environment will improve a studentâ€™s ability to problem solve and think independently. Jami graduated with her Ph.D. in May 2015. Dr. Woychesin worked for almost 20 years within the K-12 industry as an educator and administrator and now serves as an Instructional Designer at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth.
