Since 2003 Jared Lorenz has produced, written, framed and edited linear video stories, first in news and documentary, then in corporate, commercial, long form, music videos, fine art, and most recently, an interactive narrative podcast featured in the Transmedia Zone. In 2012, Jared launched a program where media production expertise and equipment arrive on location by cargo bicycle. The team has delivered support by bike, transit and train to hundreds of productions around the Greater Toronto Area. The venture resulting from this pilot program has joined the Design Fabrication Zone to fabricate a prototype bicycle for media makers. He received a BA in English and Communications Studies from the University of Calgary and began freelancing in the independent media after short stints coordinating in agency-side Advertising, then later in client-side Marketing and Communications. He studies Digital Media at Ryerson University, where he is researching the use of programmable tangible interfaces in design and play.
