Meet Justin Matheson: educator, tech aficionado, and passionate advocate for immersive learning from Saskatoon. After completing his Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Regina, he taught for a short period in Moose Jaw before moving to the Saskatoon Public School Division and then to Saskatchewan Polytechnic in 2021 as a Learning Technology Trainer. Further amplifying his commitment to progressive education, Justin earned a Master’s Degree in 2018, emphasizing the revolutionary use of video games as teaching mediums. He recently conducted a successful pilot project using “Portal 2” to teach communication skills to students at Sask Polytech, a testament to his innovative pedagogical methods. Adding another feather to his cap, he now helms a STEM and esports-based after-school program with Nanan Academy, creating future-ready learning environments. Beyond his professional achievements, at his core, Justin is a devoted father of three. Outside his dynamic career, he cherishes moments at Emma Lake, recharging with family and his beloved video games.
