Virtual History in Virtual Worlds: Digital Games as History

Stefano Caselli is a PhD student at the Institute of Digital Games of the University of Malta. As a part of his research, he deals with historical game studies, historical games, and more in general the use of digital games and VR experience for the cultural or historical heritage. He is also a teacher of video game screen-writing at the Academy of Fine Arts Santa Giulia in Brescia (Italy), of game design at Game Maker Academy (Cagliari, Italy) and of critical studies, research methods, and game design at MCAST (Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology, Malta). Since 2017, he has collaborated with the Italian Cultural Association IVIPRO – Italian Videogame Program, a national and cross-regional project that aims at mapping Italy from a video game-oriented perspective, and at promoting the use of digital games in education, tourism, and cultural dissemination.
