Wendy Sapp, Dr. Sapp serves as Research Director for Bridge Multimedia, an accessible media company based in New York City. Dr. Sapp began her career as a teacher of students with visual impairments 1995 before also working as a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist. She has taught children birth to 21 years of age with visual impairments, including those with mild and significant disabilities and those with deafblindness. Since 2000, Dr. Sapp has conducted multiple research projects into educational issues relating to children with visual impairments, has published and presented extensively on this topic, and has taught numerous undergraduate and graduate classes for professionals preparing to work with people with visual impairments. Dr. Sapp has been part of multiple teams that have developed accessible software, games, and apps to meet the educational needs of children. Dr. Sapp has her M.Ed. in Special Education-Visual Impairments and her Ph.D. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University.
