The methods by which many humanitarian agencies support vulnerable people, whether victims of armed conflict, climate events, or complex humanitarian emergencies are often outdated and ineffective. Results Based Protection (RBP) is an agile methodology designed by InterAction - the largest U.S.-based alliance of international NGOs - to help humanitarians better adapt to an evolving crisis and strengthen how they analyze, design, and measure locally-grounded programs that prevent and reduce violence, coercion, and deliberate deprivation experienced in a time of crisis. The goal is to help those most vulnerable feel safe and protected. InterAction enlisted game developers and subject matter experts to design a game to support field leaders from around the world to adopt the RBP. The panel gathers all relevant stakeholders to share how the game’s design, development, and implementation will help navigate complexity and critically effect positive impact.
Attendee Benefits
During the session we will share a number of tools and handouts that you can use when embarking on designing a low-tech business simulation as well as resources and frameworks that can help you to convert onsite events to hybrid, or vice versa. By collaborating with your fellow attendee in activities similar to those in the actual simulation we hope to spark your creativity and help you to find ideas you can apply to your environment. We hope that by the end of the session, attendees see the advantages of an approach like this and feel inspired to find ways to level up their next learning experience.
