Tabletop roleplaying games are becoming more popular with students every day. Teachers can capitalize on this interest and the capacity to immerse students in the topics about which they are learning while integrating essential reading and mathematics skills, by bringing TTRPGs into the classroom. However, many teachers either do not know enough about these games, or those who do know about the games aren't sure about how to use them in a way that will benefit students fully. As an educator who has used TTRPGs in both special and general education classrooms while collecting data regarding how well-introduced subjects are learned using these games, I will speak to how teachers can use these games.

Attendee Benefits

The audience will learn how to use TTRPGs in their K-12 classroom, regardless of whether they have personally played these games themselves. Attendees will receive a sample "one-shot" lesson that I have used as an example.
